Let me start by saying, I love the tacos... and let me continue by saying you shouldn't have to fight to get them.
This place has really good food, let me say that again because after you read this you might be asking why I continue to come here. This place should REALLY close at 9pm because they can't seem to accessible to place an order by phone, online, or in person after. I have had this issue with them not once or twice but over a dozen times over the past couple months. Tonight's instance was just one of several.
1. If you attempt to call them it takes several attempts (5-10 tries) to get a hold of them, they don't have call waiting, and seem to enjoy not answering or just taking the phone off the hook.
2. If you decide to drive/walk after they won't answer your failed attempts to place an order they will tell you in person (with a bright open sign ON) that they are closed.
3. You can't place a takeout order ONLINE, it says ONLY PRE-ORDER takeout for 7:30am
Tonight, for example, I was walking my dog and saw that the place was busy with people eating outside around 9:15PM and thought *maybe tonight won't be an issue since people are clearly eating and the place isn't empty.*
I walked around the block and was heading back towards Kesos when I called . I thought I could place a to-go order and it could be ready by the time I get there.
After calling several times in route to the place with no answer, I walk into a brightly lit place with an OPEN sign on and they proceed to tell me they aren't taking any orders (9:45PM at this point).
This isn't the first time, in the past, they have also answered the phone at 9:30 to tell me they aren't making anymore food.
It's annoying but I love their tacos so I have to deal with it but this isn't just something that happens on a rare occasion. Everyone that works at night acts like it's a chore to take your order (if they answer).
My advice: CLOSE AT 9.. or have a clause/conditional statement that says you 'might' take an order if you feel like it after a certain time, because it truly is hit or miss if someone is willing to. -

The jalapeño salsa is not as good as VeraCruz or TacoDeli and the flour tortillas are too big (which results in lots of extra tortilla to chew. Unbalanced ratio. Either use smaller tortillas or fill 'em up!)
But aside from those two minor grievances, this place is solid. Stated right there on their website, they proudly serve queso on ALL of their tacos. Yes, please! That's a game-changer for me.
The Fried Avocado Taco was cooked to perfection and the chips that they use on the Migas Taco have a salt-factor that very nicely compliments the eggs.
Upon first visit, this place went directly to #15 on my list (of sixty-four locations.) -

Taco joint with good food. Needs improvement everywhere else.
Pros:
- Broad taco selection.
- Fresh, tasty ingredients.
- Some non-taco options if you want to wander off the taco path.
- Servings per taco big enough where most will fill up on one or two.
- Sodas from someone other than Pepsi or Coke (but also had Coke in a bottle).
- Bright, casual space.
- Friendly staff.
Cons:
- Slow. Took about 10 minutes after ordering to get the food. Too slow for the fast casual it appears to be.
- Sticky. I tried 3 tables, and all had a sticky film of grease/dirt on them. My forearms are stuck to the table now.
- Slummy. Lots of trash on the floor.
- Slippery. The beef and pork-based tacos were greasier than I like. (Maybe this is the source of the sticky tables?)
To sum it up: I'd visit again if I were within walking distance. Wouldn't make a trip. -

Good breakfast taco place. The tacos are huge here and come loaded, with a salsa bar at the register. I loved the refried beans and avocado in my breakfast taco. But all of the ingredients together taste not that great, and it's not really an authentic taco place. I think it depends on what you order and how you like it flavored, but I can't say these tacos are very flavorful, I have to add a lot of salsa to get it down. It is a good and affordable place to stop by and get a bite at while visiting though. The restaurant itself is very cool on the inside and super casual, the menu is also varied and has something for everyone.

Meh money. 2 stars because it's edible, but don't waste your time.
Chipotle's tacos are better and it goes without saying that torchy's are much better.
